Cluny Farm is a working farm for intellectually disabled adults based in Sun Valley, Kyalami in Gauteng, South Africa. We have 60 Residents living and working on the Farm and for them, this is where life happens!
Imagine a place where time is reigned in and harnessed to serve, rather than play master in the rat race.
A place where people laugh, work and grow – slowly and gently. A place where every pair of eyes, reflects the child within.
All residents are adults who work to the extent that they are able. The Residents ‘run’ the farm under the guidance of a few staff and house parents. The core focus is the dignity and self actualisation of every Resident.
Cluny Farm is mourning the loss of Pamela Folly, one of its oldest and dearest Residents who passed away on Monday at the ripe age of 78 years. In memory of our dearly departed, a Memorial Service will be held on; Date: Tue 1 October 2013 Time: 14:30 Venue: Cluny Farm Centre
We are delighted to be able to announce that the next market day has been set for the 12th October,
Once again, we will be making improvements to ensure that stall holders are successful, and that visitors buy your wares and enjoy the beautiful country setting.
Many of you have already booked your stalls, and we will be taking bookings on a first come first reserved basis to ensure that we do not have too many duplications of the products on sale. Please be sure to put an accurate description of your wares on the attached booking form.
The fee to have a stall remains at R100 if you bring your own table, or R150 if you would like us to provide a table. The tables have to be hired in so we are unfortunately forced to pass the cost on. There is a R50 surcharge for the use of electricity.
We will allocate FIVE free stands to Charities, who should provide their NPO number on the application form.
We are introducing a CHRISTMAS theme into this market, and our publicity will talk about “buy your Christmas goodies early”
We therefor encourage you to have Christmas gifts and goodies for sale. Everyone wants to be organised early for Christmas, so you are sure to make good sales. Adding a few Christmas decorations to your table or gazebo, will add to the Christmas spirit.
Once again we will be undertaking a massive publicity campaign to increase the number of visitors attending the market. We will send you an electronic copy of the market leaflet for you to send to your customers and friends.
Please send in your booking form soonest to reserve your stall . Payment for the stand is due by October 7th 2013.
Our annual AGM will take place on Saturday the 10th of August 2013 at 6pm at the hall at Cluny Farm.
We have a slot on Ontbytsake, Kyk Net, DSTV. They are doing a spread on Midrand and we are the only NPO that has been chosen for this advertisement worth R 15000.00. (So exciting – yeah) Programmes will be aired as followed:

I have also done a interview with SABC 1, Bust on Gospel – a celebrity will participate representing Cluny Farm in a “Noot vir Noot” competition and the prize money will go towards Cluny. More details on this to follow.
Should you be too busy and you cannot make the time to do your bit at a worthy charitable cause in your area, why not enable Non Profit organisations in your area to do it on your behalf by donating R67.00.

Winter is here, driving into Cluny in the mornings, I am met by a cloud of mist and white dew on the grass. I am also met by friendly faces with heart warming smiles! This warms the very cold days and humbles me every time. As with life, there is a season for everything, Winter is here, so let us remember the wonderful Residents on the farm. Let this warm our hearts and remind us how very fortunate we are to be part of a family, being able to live life everyday, without any limitations. Some people aren’t that lucky! Have a wonderful and blessed long weekend! Juanita
Cluny Farm hosted their annual tea on the 11th of May, but this was a ladies tea with a difference. Our own Cluny Residents entertained us with a fabulous Fashion Parade “Hollywood” style. Prices were giving for the best dressed table and the Ladies really went out of their way with the decorations. Larger than life Oscars were part of the décor, gold and black masks and feathers complimenting the Hollywood Boulevard.
We also had an American Auction that fetched a nice big amount for our organization.
Thank you to everyone that made this day possible, we really appreciate your support. These are just one of the Fund-Raising initiatives Cluny Farm utilises to raise funds and awareness for the Farm and their very special Residents.
If you would like to get involved in any way with Cluny Farm you can contact Juanita Cronje directly on 011 702 1690 or 083 578 9700.
We really need the help of the community and businesses with our various projects.
